Return Policy for Online Orders

We offer a 3-day return policy for eligible items ordered online. Items clearly marked as final sale on the product page are not returnable. Please note that any order could be subject to final sale status at the discretion of Prelude Gowns; some examples might include orders containing multiple dresses or customers with a high rate of previous returns. Sale dresses, shoes, accessories, and specially ordered dresses that the vendor does not have in stock at the time of ordering are considered final sales and are not returnable. When placing your order online, you may be asked to provide a “need date” (the date you require the dress by). If this need date falls before the standard 3-day return window, your return authorization (RA) must be requested prior to that need date.

We Offer 2 Return Options for Eligible Online Orders

  • You can return your dress for online merchandise credit in the full amount of the purchase price (applies to regularly priced returns).
  • You can return your dress for a refund to your original payment method, minus a 10% restocking fee (applies to regularly priced returns).

Return Requirements for Online Orders

  • You must request a return authorization within 3 days of the delivery date of your order (this count includes weekends and holidays) OR prior to the need date stated on your order, whichever comes first.
  • Return requests cannot be processed past the need date provided on the order, even if the request is made within the 3-day delivery window.
  • Dresses must be shipped back to us using FedEx or UPS only; returns sent via the United States Postal Service (USPS) or other postal services will not be accepted. Return shipping labels are not provided. The customer is responsible for all return shipping charges.
  • The dress being returned must be in the same new, unworn condition as received, with all original tags still attached. Failure to meet this condition may result in a 50% restocking fee.
  • Items originally marked as final sale are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
  • The original dress must be shipped back and postmarked within 3 business days from the time you are issued your Return Authorization (RA) number. If your need date is sooner than 3 days from the RA issuance, the return must be postmarked before that need date.

Additional Terms

Merchandise credit issued for returns can only be used for purchasing merchandise on our website and cannot be applied towards shipping costs. Any remaining balance on a merchandise credit is not redeemable for cash. Refunds and online merchandise credits are typically issued on the same day the returned item is received and processed at our facility.

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges associated with the return. For international customers, please note that you are responsible for any duties, taxes, or customs fees that may apply to your original order or return.

Dresses must be shipped back via FedEx or UPS only; returns sent by post office will not be accepted. Any return package postmarked later than 3 business days after an RA is issued, or any package sent without a valid RA number, will not be accepted and may be returned to sender. Items postmarked after the need date on your original order will also be rejected.

The dress must be unworn and in the exact condition you received it, with original tags still attached. Any item that is not in its original condition, or that shows signs of having been worn, washed, altered, or damaged in any way, will not be refunded or may be subject to a 50% restocking fee at our discretion. Please note that any returns processed on orders where a promotional code was used will void that original promo code, and it cannot be reapplied.
